Cathode material: is the most critical raw material in lithium-ion batteries: in the four main materials of the power battery, the cathode material is in the most critical position. From the principle of the power battery, the cathode material provides the active lithium ions required for the electrochemical reaction of the battery; From the point of view of the cost of the power battery, the positive electrode material is the highest proportion of raw materials, reaching more than 30%. Therefore, the change of the cathode material has a great impact on the performance and cost of the power battery. According to the cathode material system, lithium batteries can be divided into lithium cobaltate, lithium manganate, lithium iron phosphate, ternary materials and other technical routes.
Negative electrode materials: On the frontier of negative electrode materials, the current slight breakthrough is hard carbon, soft carbon and silicon/carbon composite materials. As a new anode material, hard carbon has similar lithium potential and higher specific capacity as graphite. More importantly, hard carbon is composed of graphite-like microcrystalline structure and open angular microcrystalline structure. This unique microcrystalline structure can not only provide more storage sites for lithium, but also facilitate the deintercalation of lithium ions between graphite layers. Therefore, hard carbon as a new generation of lithium ion battery cathode material, the development prospect is very broad. Silicon carbon cathode has the advantages of high energy density and suitable discharge platform. It is one of the more potential next-generation cathode materials and has always been the focus of research and development. In the past few years, due to the high price of products and the immaturity of the supporting industry chain, the industrialization of silicon carbon cathode has not progressed as expected.
